men's fashion calendarLondon Men's Fashion week has come to a close yet again, with a worldwide audience having been unexpectedly dazzled by the tartan patches and double-breasted suits of this biannual showcase. As we undo our neckties and put our oversized scarves to one side, we realize just how remarkable some of the trends were from January, with checked tailoring,  trainers matched with suits and a lot of items with a lot of blue in them, everything was as unpredictable as ever. Regardless, we want to at least try to plan ahead by looking at what's left to come in our style calendar with these picks of the biggest men's fashion dates of 2015.

The Academy AwardsFebruary 22nd

So much has been made of this year's Oscars; the nominated actors and actresses, the excellent calibre of cinema on display and even the performers planned (who range from Jack Black to Adam Levine). We're very interested to see the greatest tux's in Hollywood taken out for the greatest night in tinsel town, with actors who already wowed at the Golden Globe awards like Eddie Redmayne and Benedict Cumberbatch likely to stun us all over again. If all that fails, presenter Neil Patrick Harris is very likely to pick something...interesting from his wardrobe.

Fashion in Film FestivalMarch 17-23rd

A fantastic 6 day event held at a variety of leading London arts venues, the Fashion in Film Festival is made for those who want to explore the greater role the moving image has played in the fashion industry, and who would like a small insight into the growing world of fashion film production. From journalistic reportage to audio-visual experimentation, this year's event will include a screening of Man in the White Suit, and the experimental Birds of Paradise. A must for fans of both men's fashion and cinematic techniques.

Cannes Film FestivalMay 13-24th

The Cannes Film Festival is an event that combines fantastic men's fashion (in the heart of the French Riveria) with the most astounding pieces of cinematic work on display. Last year saw some extremely stylish suits from the always reliable Ryan Gosling, James McAvoy and Adrian Brody, and with none other but the Coen brothers acting as join-jury presidents, we're sure the need to turn up well dressed has only been intensified.

London Collections: MenJune 13-15th

The second of London's two big menswear showcases, the summer round of this popular event is sure to match the height of English hot weather with a matching stylistic collection. Whilst it's too early to say much about the event, what's remarkable is how much of a staple in the men's fashion calendar the LC:M has become, despite it's relatively young age, and how important it is for emphasising both the creative and commerical importance of British brands and talent.

New York MenswearJune 13th-16th

Whilst the LM:C has rival shows in Paris (the Mode à Paris) and in Milan (the Milano Moda Uomo), we thought we'd throw particular attention to the New York branch of this new men's fashion movement, seeing that this is the first time it's happened. Announced just this week, it's an exciting time for men's fashion now that the Big Apple is suiting up with it's own answer to the rise of menswear-focused fashion weeks. Top designers like Michael KorsCalvin Klein Collection, and Rag & Bone are on board, meaning there's a lot of potential for these burgeoning summer shows.

2015 MTV VMA'sAugust 30th

Easily one of the biggest nights in showbiz for the younger generation, the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony always excites with it's incredible performances, surprise appearances and seemingly never ending string of controversies. Better still, it's a chance for us to see artists and musicians at their best dressed, which is saying something considering how crucial style is to their persona.
