We’ve been loving the recent spell of summer sunshine down here in Devon, and it means that beaches and BBQ’s are definitely back on the agenda. When it comes to summer clothing, it can be notoriously difficult to get the balance between comfort and style, and not end up looking like a sun wearied tourist, crossed with that ‘lads-on-tour’ look t-shirts and shorts can so easily bring. Below is our first summer style look book, optimistically titled ‘Miami Sunshine’ with added palm trees for good measure.good pair of shorts are a summer essential, and we love the muted floral pattern on these, which add a nice beachy feel without any tackiness. To balance the detail a plain t-shirt does the job nicely, keeping the look smart but casual, and importantly keeping you cool and comfortable. We’ve kept the relaxed look with a good pair of flip flops, not the cheap rubber kind you can pick up at any seaside resort for a fiver. These ones will take you from the beach to a smart bar for that compulsory afternoon tipple. Finally, we’ve completed the look with a smart pair of Ray Bans which need no introduction.
For summer style we definitely think less is more. Winter is great for layering, but summer allows some key pieces to really stand out on their own. Have you got any favourite summer staples you swear by when the sun comes out?
