It's that time of year again where the stars are all out to play in their finery, while being honoured at various award ceremonies.

Drunken debauchery, comedic acceptance speeches (we're looking at you Robert Downey Jr!) and wardrobe malfunctions aside, this is a great time of year to look at smart men's fashion.  Who wore what?  How can we get that look?  It's a smorgasbord of style inspiration to pick through!

Pocket Squares

Pocket squares were all over the red carpet in 2014.  Whether it was worn in an understated, crisp line like Matt Damon (left),  jaunty and devil-may-care like Benedict Cumberbatch (centre), or a traditional statement triangle like P-Diddy (if that's what he's calling himself these days - we can never keep up!) (right), these little touches can add a great deal to your outfit and can be worn to suit your style and mood.

Lapel Pins

Does Usher ever age?  Or look anything other than polished and sophisticated? All we know is that we love his little bit of bling included in the form of a lapel pin.  Who says it's just the ladies that are allowed a bit of sparkle?  Usher's version captures the light, screams 'look at me' and still looks suave and debonair.

Tie Slide

In all honesty, Ian Somerhalder stole the show for us.  Looking perfectly put together with a lightly patterned pocket square, skinny tie and a contrasting tie slide against a deep navy jacket, this man had everything done just right on the night for simple and elegant sophistication.
